I am so excited to finally spill the beans as to my whereabouts over the last while. To put it simply – I wrote a book!

squawkfox_book

I didn’t set out to “get published” and write a book – it just kind of happened by accident. I was sitting on my sofa minding my business when an email landed in my inbox asking if I had the time to write a book based on this blog, Squawkfox. Since I’m one to take on a challenge, I accepted the publisher’s offer and spent the next mornings, noons, and nights writing like crazy to meet the deadline. My publisher is amazing. My editor is unbelievably fantastic. The process was exhausting. I’m so happy to be done. 🙂

What’s the Book About?

There are a few details still being finalized (like the title) – but for the most part the book is loosely based on this blog. It’s about using fun and frugal cost-cutting methods in a bummer economy to save big bucks. The book is written for a wide audience with many useful tricks and practical tips.

When is the Book Available?

The launch date is a few months away. I’ve just gone through the editing process. Tomorrow I get to say, “cheese” for an author photo. I’ll let you know more about availability as soon as I know the details!

Who’s the Author?

I came to the scary conclusion that I could not write a book under my alias “Squawkfox”. So I’ll be revealing my identity when the time comes. I’m not sure how to tell you guys that I’m just a regular gal with a simple name and a strange sense of humor.

Now What?

Being whisked away into a publishing vortex is a brain boggling experience. I’m so excited to be done the book and be back to blogging for you guys. My apologies to all those who worried about my existence. If you emailed, Twittered, or commented looking for life – thank you for checking in with me and caring about my absence. I am sincerely flattered you missed me.
