I survived my knee surgery. Yay! Whew! I’ve spent the last few days icing, elevating, sleeping, medicating, and healing. If you ever need knee surgery then I highly recommend taking the prescription meds as part of the deal. There’s nothing quite like a pain free “holiday” to go with some surgical intervention. Smile.

While I survived my knee surgery, I am saddened to say my tomatoes did not. It seems the local area magpies caught wind of my hospital stay and decided to peck the heck out of my ripening fruits. Upon my hazy (and slightly drugged) return from hospital, I couldn’t help but notice the tomato damage. The peckered picture above shows the tomatoey damage. Crazy week.
It’s time for me to take another nap. In my sleepy slumber please enjoy these wonderful articles.

About those tomatoes – I seriously recommend bird netting.
We share the rest!
A 14 x 14 piece is about $7 here – but can be cut to size and
used year after year. I keep it over my blueberries – as they are the one thing I don’t feel I have enough of to share with the birds
Glad you fared better than your tomatoes, and thanks for the mention.
Sending healing vibes your way! I have BTDT with the knee surgery ( and spent more time on crutches & in wheel chairs than I ever wanted). I crushed my knee and broke my femur years ago & it still gives me pain! Be very diligent with your therapy post surgery…that is key and worth the effort!!
Thanks so much for the link!
Oh, I don’t know if you need to feel badly about the tomatoes … isn’t there a certain element of charm to them, now? and it looks like they took care to leave large sections of the tomatoes for your own eating enjoyment
Too bad about your tomatoes. Hope you are up and running soon. Thanks for the link!
