@Karen Datko I am thrilled, thank you so much. The rapid consumption of plastic bags has bothered me for some time now. I live on an organic farm where these bags fly into the fields and litter the landscape. I see eagles and other birds of prey using these bags in nests. I see wildlife grazing around the tossed aside litter. The cattle feeding in carefully planted and harrowed fields are at risk of consuming these busted bags. Cattle can easily perish when debris becomes caught in their multiple stomaches and rumen. I would love for people to consider shopping with reusable bags. Hopefully, this article and Smart Spending have opened people's minds.

@Frugal Dad Thank you! I too hope people move away from plastic. I would love to see more grocery shoppers bagging their milk and veggies in reusable bags.

Congratulations! That was a great article, and worthy of the extra attention! I hope to see more people move to reusable bags, and away from the plastic bags found at grocers across the country.

Fox, you did a great job with a very good subject. Donna and I have both written about those flimsy plastic bags, and your post provided readers with even more important information. It was a natural to feature at Smart Spending. I'm also glad the MSN Money editors decided to promote it.
