Carnivals

I just got back from visiting my folks on the other end of the country. During my week away I cleaned up all my 80s crap, recycled dozens of mixed tapes, and shipped all of my old university text books home. Shipping text books is darn expensive! Ouch! My advice to those with old text books - donate them! Since my jet lag is kinda killing me right now, how about I share some killer carnival action from the mega midways of April Fool’s week! Here goes!

The Carnival of Personal Finance #146 - Online Broker Tips Edition is being hosted by Blain Reinkensmeyer over at Stock Trading To Go. My article on Toastmasters is Torture! So why do it? is included in this carnival! Thank you Blain! Karen Datko from MSN SmartSpending also featured my ode to Toastmasters in A fear of public speaking can cost you. Thank you Karen!

The Festival of Frugality #119: The Quitting My Day Job to Blog Full Time Edition is being hosted by Flexo at Consumerism Commentary. Flexo was kind enough to include my Top Five Frugalicious Breakfasts, a Visual Guide. Now this carnival went live April 1st, and Flexo has proclaimed to be quitting his day job. I dunno if this is fact or fiction, so you’ll have to read through the comments to figure it out!

Since I’ve been eating frugally these days and posting lots of food, I went and joined the veggie circus over at Veggie Chic where my article on Frugalicious Snacks is included. Indeed, eating lots of veggies is very affordable for those frugal shoppers out there. Thank you Jul for letting me join the fun!

Last but not least, the fellows over at Four Pillars got me good with their Big Announcement April Fool’s gag. I still can’t believe they called me a “Foxy Squawker”. Anyhoo, the crazy Canucks (Mike and Mr. Cheap) are indeed a couple of hosers and always give me a giggle. I actually believed Bill Gates would guest post for them monthly. Sigh, I am so blaming the jet lag.

Be sure to visit these kind hosts, blog carnivals, gullible gags, and of course SmartSpending!

    Thanks for the mention.

It was my wife who called you a “Foxy squawker”. It wasn’t me - I swear!!
